SOMO SEL VIENTO.
The lands you reside in today did not always look the way they do today, and unless you've been told the story I'm sure no one would believe that.
The ancestors of the horses here were nothing special, they were simple, everyday horses. Ranging from the tall, bulky drafts to the petite, dainty ponies. They retained the peace around the land, there were a few fights between herds, but nothing out of the ordinary.
It was one day in early fall that the peace was shattered. Two horses appeared, a muscular steel grey draft stallion named Sesso and a short, petite bay arabian mare named Amante. The two were polar opposites, Sesso was fairly calm, though easily angered. Amante however was nearly always furious, she didn't let her size get in her way. They had one thing in common though, they both held elemental powers.
The stallion was able to bend air and earth, giving him an advantage to make his land any way he wanted it. After recruiting a large number of horses to join him, he created mountains in a bowl-like shape, therefore encircling himself and his herd away from the outside world. The majority of the horses that joined him were heavy horses, and found even though they were now in the mountains, the weather was quite hot. So Sesso cooled his lands to even lower temperatures. Those who couldn't handle it left, or perished.
Amante on the other hand, possessed the powers of water and fire, giving her the full power of destruction. She too recruited several horses, they followed her more so out of fear instead of trust though. Being the little pyro she was, she used her powers to heat her land, killing off much of the grass and several of her herd members in the process. The ones who survived began to thrive on the salty, dune grasses and became hardier, sturdier, and smaller with time.
It was not until Sesso and Amante were nearing old age that they had their first foals. Sesso sired three foals within his own herd in his first year, all colts. Amante birthed a set of twins, both fillies. The next year, when Amante became pregnant again, she was worried. Not so much about the foal, but that someone might find out who his sire was. Sesso and she had put their differences aside in the year before, and she was now carrying his foal.
When it came time for her to give birth to her foal, she went off, making sure she was not followed.
When she came back, a lanky amber champagne colt tagged along her flanks. Her herd was curious as to who had sired the new foal, but she let no name slip but told them she was naming him Gallese.
The colt grew fast, becoming tall and muscular, as well as discovering his powers. Not only did he inherit the talents of water and fire from his mother, but air and earth as well. When discovering the two unknown to his herd, his mother was forced to tell him who his father was. Gallese, aghast at the announcement, slayed his mother that night, then went searching for his father, and brought the same fate to him.
Now the only question that remains is; which side will you turn to?
The Elementals, The Mortals, or The Observers?
